However, conflicting figures have emerged as to the casualty figure as well as the numbers of those rescued from the scene of the boat accident.

 

The Anambra State Government, says more than 30 people have been rescued and about six people, including two kids and two ladies, died in the accident. 

 

But an indigene of the area identified as Eze Ogbugbulu, says 16 bodies have been recovered, while former Transition Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Arinze Awogu, said 13 people died.
