Araghchi: US Should Scale Back Demands For Deal To Succeed

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the United States will have to drop its excessive demands in order for both countries to reach a deal.

He said this to newsmen this Friday following talks the two sides held in Geneva, saying that for any deal to be successful, The US will have to be realistic with their terms and avoid excessive demands.

Recall that US President Donald Trump said last Wednesday that Iran had already developed missiles that can threaten Europe, while, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Iran is still trying to develop its ballistic missile programme to rival that of the US.

Meanwhile, Iran maintains that its missile programme is part of its defensive capabilities and has ruled out abandoning uranium enrichment saying its nuclear programme is solely for peaceful purposes.
