Anambra State Government has said the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise earlier announced to hold on December 16, 2023, as well as the restriction of Vehicular and human movement by the Anambra State Waste Management Authority, ASWAMA, was not authorized.

Recall that a press release signed by ASWAMA on December 11, 2023, had declared a monthly sanitation on December 16th and restricted all human and vehicular movements in all parts of the State in preparation for the burial of Governor Soludo’s father, Late Pa Simeon Soludo, scheduled to hold on December 23, 2023 and also in readiness for the Christmas and New year celebrations.

However, the Press Secretary to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Christian Aburime, has apologized to the public for the misleading information by ASWAMA, and encouraged everyone to go about their normal daily activities without any regards for the previous information.
