The Anambra State Police Command has undertaken a walkathon to promote physical fitness and strengthen police-community relations as part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Day celebration.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, announced to newsmen this Tuesday, that the fitness walk commenced from the Command Headquarters and saw participation from the Command’s management team, other police officers, and members of the public, demonstrating unity, cooperation, and commitment to healthy living.
The exercise shows the Command’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of its personnel while fostering closer ties with the community in line with the principles of community policing.
The Command appreciated members of the public who joined the walkathon and reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the state.
It added that the initiative reflects ongoing efforts to build trust and cooperation between the police and the communities they serve.
