The Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has reaffirmed its resolve to put an end to crude oil theft, illegal dealings on petroleum products and oil pipeline vandalism.
The Anambra State Commandant of the NSCDC, Edwin Osuala, said this in Awka, this Tuesday, shortly after receiving six suspects apprehended by officers of the Nigerian Navy, Onitsha Outpost.
The Anambra state Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Okadigbo Edwin, listed the suspects who were apprehended in the space of two weeks to include; one 57yr old Ugwu Donatus, 52yr old Chukwudi Eke, and 30yr old Nwabueze Daniel who were arrested along Atani Road, Odekpe Community in Ogbaru LGA of Anambra State while conveying 70 sack bags of petroleum products.
He also mentioned one 32yr old Chinedu Okafor, 42yr old Abu Galaddima, and 29yr old Rishamah Abbass also arrested in Ogbaru LGA with 100 sack bags of products suspected to be illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil estimated to be about 5,000 litres.
The NSCDC command boss appreciated the Navy for the arrest and commended the synergy between the NSCDC and the Navy which he says has yielded many results in the fight against economic crimes in the country.
