Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Paul Nwosu, has admonished the landlords in Onitsha to complement government’s efforts by face-lifting their degenerated buildings; saying that the state governor, Chukwuma Soludo has spent so much money fixing the dilapidated road network of the city.

Nwosu says Onitsha needs a complete renewal of its environment because it is the major gateway to Anambra State, and for the state to truly earn her rank as the “light of the nation”.

The Information Commissioner expressed concern that the frontage of Onitsha buildings are choked with old containers and illegal structures being used as shops and workshops by artisans, which he says are antithetical to the kind of quality cities Governor Soludo plans for Anambra State.

He says it is no longer acceptable that drainages and gutters are left under-silted and clogged; saying that soak ways not being properly channeled to the right places must be removed as they end up polluting the environment and threatening the populace with infectious diseases.
