Akor Adams Snubbed As Pape Gueye Clinches La Liga African MVP Award in Lagos
Nigerian footballer, Akor Adams has missed out on the 2025/26 La Liga African MVP award after Pape Gueye was named the best African player in Spanish football at an award ceremony which held in Lagos on Sunday.

Gueye secured 38 per cent of the total votes to claim the honour ahead of Inaki Williams of Athletic Bilbao, who finished second with 24 per cent.

Sevilla players Adams and Chidera Ejuke were also shortlisted for the award but failed to make the final podium.

Adams however, emerged as Nigeria’s highest-scoring forward across Europe’s top five leagues after registering 10 league goals and three assists in 32 appearances.
