The traditional ruler, Abala Autonomous Community, Abia State, Chimaeze Nwokenne, on tuesday sought governments’ collaboration with traditional rulers to ensure effective community policing.

Nwokenne made the call while speaking with journalistsshortly after his coronation as the Ezeukwu III of Abala Ancient Kingdom, at Abala, in Obingwa Local Council of the state.

He said that most communities had already engaged the services of both young men and women as local vigilantes, saying that the only challenge is maintenance.

Meanwhile Governor of abia state Alex Otti, who congratulated Nwokenne on his enthronement, said that his choice at the moment to be part of the new Abia dream is not by accident but symbolic.
