Imo Police Investigate Officer Over Viral Assault Video

The Imo State Police Command says it has commenced investigations into an incident involving one of its officers identified as Gabriel Utuh, team leader of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, deployed along Owerri -Orlu road.
The spokesperson of the Command, Henry Okoye, spoke on Wednesday saying the investigation follows a viral video showing the officer assaulting a civilian while on duty.
Okoye said the officer involved has been identified and that appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken against him if found guilty of the offence.
The Command assured members of the public that the investigation will be thorough, impartial, and guided by the principles of accountability and professionalism.
