Peter Obi Rules Out Giving Party Agents Money to Induce Voters in 2027

The 2027 Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, has insisted that the Obi/Kwankwaso movement will not provide money to party agents for the purpose of inducing voters during the 2027 elections.
Obi said this on Monday at a town hall meeting in Sokoto, where he was accompanied by his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
Obi said the practice of giving money to voters on election day is vote-buying, insisting that it was among the factors contributing to the persistence of poverty in the country.
Nonetheless, he assured that adequate security arrangements would be made to protect voters and ensure that votes were properly counted and recorded.
