President Bola Tinubu will attend and address world leaders at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York in September.
Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim, disclosed this on Wednesday after a meeting with the president at the State House, Abuja.
He said Tinubu confirmed his participation while approving Nigeria’s plans for this year’s General Assembly.
He said Tinubu will participate in several high-level side events focusing on energy, education and hospital management.
He said the president would use the gathering to present Nigeria’s ongoing economic and governance reforms to the international community.
Tinubu attended the 78th UN General Assembly in person, while Vice-President Kashim Shettima represented him at the 79th and 80th sessions.
