Iran says it will maintain control of the Strait of Hormuz following the conclusion of technical talks with the United States in Switzerland.
Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Ghalibaf, made this known this Tuesday, saying the waterway would continue to be administered by the Islamic Republic in line with international law.
Recall that the development comes as the United States and Iran continue negotiations aimed at reaching a final agreement to end the ongoing conflict and ensure safe passage for commercial vessels.
Meanwhile, the United States has temporarily suspended sanctions on Iranian oil exports until August 21 as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts.
