‎Iran says it will maintain control of the Strait of Hormuz following the conclusion of technical talks with the United States in Switzerland.

‎Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Ghalibaf, made this known this Tuesday, saying the waterway would continue to be administered by the Islamic Republic in line with international law.

‎Recall that the development comes as the United States and Iran continue negotiations aimed at reaching a final agreement to end the ongoing conflict and ensure safe passage for commercial vessels.

‎Meanwhile, the United States has temporarily suspended sanctions on Iranian oil exports until August 21 as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts.
