Oborevwori rules out Peter Obi winning Delta

The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed confidence that the voting pattern that led to former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, winning Delta State in the 2023 election, will not be repeated in 2027.

Speaking this Tuesday, Oborevwori said Obi’s performance in the state was due to support from the Christian community and non-indigenous residents, particularly members of the Igbo community.

He also said his administration has strengthened its relationship with the Igbo community in the state and that he is sure to gain their support and that of the religious leaders for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in future elections.

He said the factors that contributed to Obi’s victory in Delta state during the 2023 presidential election have been addressed, saying that he does not expect a similar outcome in 2027.
