The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has dismissed claims that its General Overseer, Enoch Adeboye, campaigned for the government in power, saying that he has always been neutral on partisan politics.
The RCCG Public Relations said this this Tuesday, saying Adeboye has consistently encouraged members of the church to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and exercise their civic rights by voting for candidates of their choice, and has not endorsed any political party.
The church also dismissed claims that Adeboye called off a planned protest, and intentionally keeps silent on national issues, saying that Adeboye has spoken on several occasions about insecurity, corruption, economic hardship, governance and the need for righteous leadership.
The church urged the public, bloggers, and media organizations to verify information concerning Pastor Adeboye and RCCG through its official communication channels before publication.
