KNDC Says Banditry Claims Over 1,200 In Kwara North Under Tinubu

Prominent elders and stakeholders in Kwara North Senatorial District under Kwara North Development Commission (KNDC) have criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying that over 1,200 people in the region have been killed since he assumed office in 2023.

The National President of KNDC, Abdullahi Manzuma, and Publicity Secretary, Hajia Seko, said this Tuesday, that unless urgent action is taken to restore security in the district, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) risks losing the goodwill and their support in the 2027 elections.

The group acknowledged the efforts of the Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in addressing the challenge, but said that the responsibility for securing lives and property ultimately rests with the Federal Government.

The stakeholders also said restoring security in the region would not only save lives but will also revive agricultural production and economic activities critical to the food security of both Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.
