A Former governor of Anambra State and presidential aspirant, Peter Obi, has said that he was not disturbed by speculations surrounding a possible presidential bid by former President Goodluck Jonathan, saying that his focus remained on rebuilding Nigeria and offering credible leadership ahead of the 2027 elections.
Obi said this after undergoing a screening exercise as part of preparations for its 2027 presidential primaries. Conducted by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja .
He also commended the NDC for a transparent and credible screening process, saying the party was demonstrating internal democracy by adhering to laid-down procedures.
However he dismissed insinuations that he had already emerged as the consensus candidate of the party, maintaining that the process remained open and democratic.
