The founder of the first 24-hour cable news channel, Cable News Network, CNN, Ted Turner, has died at the age of 87.
CNN CEO and Chairman, Mark Thompson, announced the death of Ted Turner on Wednesday, describing him as a committed and fearless leader who will always be the presiding spirit of CNN.
US President Donald Trump, despite being a fierce critic of the current CNN, paid tribute to Turner, describing him as one of the greats of broadcast history.
Turner is survived by his five children, 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
