An aspirant for the House of Representatives under the All Progressives’ Grand Alliance, APGA, Ifeanyi Ibezi, and the Chairman of Idemili North LGA, Stanley Nkwoka, have traded blames over a gunshot incident that happened at a community civic centre in Idemili, Anambra state.
Ibezi, who seeks to represent Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, said he had scheduled a stakeholders’ meeting as part of his consultations ahead of the next general elections, but was attacked by thugs loyal to the Chairman who he said shot two of his security aides.
However, the Idemili North Chairman, Stanley Nkwoka, accused Ibezi of disregarding due process, saying he had cautioned Ibezi to postpone the meeting to allow for adequate security arrangements, but the aspirant declined.
Nkwoka said he sealed the building but Ibezi attempted to force his way into the sealed building, which led to a confrontation with security operatives.
