Former Majority Leader of the Senate, Ali Ndume, has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently intensify efforts to secure the release of over 400 residents of Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Council of Borno State, who remain in captivity following a recent insurgent attack.
Ndume, said this to newsmen on monday in Abuja, he expressed concern over the plight of the abductees and the slow pace of federal response saying that the situation demands immediate and decisive intervention.
He, however, acknowledged that the Nigerian Army has since reclaimed Ngoshe from insurgents and currently maintains control of the area.
Ndume also urged the Federal Government to complement the efforts of the Borno State government, which has already committed N100 million towards the immediate reconstruction, resettlement and rehabilitation of the affected community.
