The Manager of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Ahmed Danjuma, has said that over 10,000 “Go Cashless” cards have been registered at the airport since the commencement of the policy’s implementation.
Danjuma made this known to newsmen this Tuesday in Abuja, saying the temporary gridlock experienced at the toll gate on Monday and in the early hours of Tuesday, was as a result of the full implementation of the cashless toll policy nationwide.
He added that although registration began in August 2025, and sensitization was carried out by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, the majority of airport users did not register on time.
Danjuma pointed that the policy aims to enhance transparency and revenue optimisation, which no previous administration fully implemented.
Some airport users commended the government’s initiative, while urging the government to channel the funds generated into infrastructural development at the nation’s airports.
