PDP Moves to Court Over FCT Area Council Election Outcome
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has inaugurated a special legal team to challenge the results of the Area Council elections held in the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, won five of the six chairmanship seats in the council elections.

However, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, alleged that there were several misconducts and irregularities during the polls, as well as widespread voter apathy.

He said the voter apathy in the election is a direct response to the Electoral Act 2026, saying the people have completely lost faith in electoral outcomes conducted under this Act.
