The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has asked former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai to submit any evidence he has on the alleged purchase of a toxic chemical to the Department of State Services (DSS) for investigation.

This follows a petition sent to National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, where El-Rufai claimed about 10 kilograms of thallium sulphate was sourced from a supplier in Poland. The substance is highly poisonous and can be deadly even in small amounts.

However, the ONSA replied in a letter saying it neither bought nor planned to buy the chemical, and that anyone with useful information would be invited to assist the probe. It also said the matter had been handed over to the DSS.

Sources say the letter was first rejected at El-Rufai’s Abuja residence but was later delivered on Sunday.
