The Police Command in Delta state say they have dismantled a suspected cult killing network linked to recent violent clashes in Ughelli town, arresting 11 suspects and recovering weapons and other incriminating items.
The Delta Police Spokesperson, Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrests on Wednesday saying it was carried out by peratives of the Commissioner of Police Special Assignment Team of the Delta State Police.
He said the operatives, led by Julius Robinson, first arrested two suspects, 40 year old Warri Ochuko and 23 year old Lucky Okohwoake, who both made confessional statements during interrogation that then led to a coordinated operation across the Ughelli metropolis and more arrests.
The police said profiling and further investigation of all suspects are ongoing to determine the full extent of their criminal activities and possible links to cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping, and other violent crimes.
