The Federal Government has signed the concession agreement for the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, made the announcement this Friday, saying the agreement concluded a long and transparent process that began several years ago.
Under the deal, Aero Alliance Consortium have now been appointed as the private concessionaire to operate, manage, and upgrade the airport, while ownership remains with the Federal Government.
The government has also assured airport workers that their jobs and conditions of service are protected under the concession framework, saying the move is expected to improve efficiency, attract investment, and enhance passenger experience at the Enugu airport.
