A Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, says industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has reduced under the Renewed Hope administration, claiming that the union has embarked on strike only once since 2023.

Olusegun made this claim this Tuesday on his X handle, saying that the one industrial action was a warning strike that lasted nine days.

He attributed the development to what he described as deliberate government interventions in the education sector, which he said marked a departure from years of frequent strikes under previous administrations.

He also said that further details of the government’s interventions would be outlined to demonstrate how the administration had worked to address the problem of strikes in public universities.
