The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced plans to implement reforms to better respond to emerging national challenges and enhance its role in national development.
The Director-General of the NYSC, Brig. Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, said this on Monday at the opening ceremony of the 2026 NYSC Annual Management Conference in Jos, Plateau State.
Nafiu says the scheme has reached a level of maturity that allows it to move beyond symbolic nation-building to more practical and measurable impact.
He also stressed the need for the scheme to adapt to changing population dynamics, security realities, and technological advancements.
