The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has warned that Ukrainian troops must withdraw from Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region or Russia will seize it.
Putin said this on Thursday as he rejected any compromise over how to end the war in Ukraine.
He made the comment after US President Donald Trump had assured that Putin would like to end the war after a meeting in Moscow with his negotiators discussing a US peace plan between Russia and Ukraine.
However, Putin’s senior foreign policy adviser and key negotiator, Yuri Ushakov, said that after the meeting, they produced no compromise on ending the war.
