The Federal Government has disclosed that more than 700 individuals have been convicted and jailed for terrorism-related offences across Nigeria, with several other prosecutions currently underway.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said this, saying that 17,000 terrorists were in custody.
Idris however denied the allegations that Christians were being persecuted in Nigeria.
He explained that the Special Court established for Boko Haram cases had already held more than seven sittings, during which over 700 high-profile suspects were convicted.
