Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu bears a historic responsibility to reshape Nigeria’s destiny, warning that his failure to deliver on his mandate could make it difficult for future presidents to succeed.

Speaking during a television interview on TVC, Sani described Tinubu’s administration as a defining moment in Nigeria’s political journey. He said the president has “a unique opportunity to reshape and reconfigure the destiny of this country,” adding that his performance will either strengthen or weaken the nation’s political foundation.

“If President Bola Tinubu fails, I don’t think it will be easy for any other president to succeed,” he cautioned.

The former lawmaker urged the president to place competence above political loyalty in his appointments, recalling the governance model Tinubu implemented as Lagos State governor. “The standard he set in Lagos, where he brought the best people to lead, must now be applied nationwide,” Sani said.

He lamented Nigeria’s divisive political climate, noting that the ruling class and the opposition often treat each other as adversaries rather than partners in progress.
