The Association of Resident Doctors in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA have begun an indefinite strike.
The President of the association, Dr. George Ebong, and General-Secretary, Dr. Agbor Affiong announced the strike this Monday, saying the decision followed a congress by its members on Sunday.
Recall that the association had embarked on a seven-day warning strike last Monday to press home its demands, following months of unresolved negotiations with the FCTA.
However, Dr. Ebong says the Government of FCTA has refused to listen to their demands.
He emphasized that the strike is not targeted at the minister or anyone personally but against the failed health sector in the FCT.
