European champions Paris Saint-Germain, PSG, have begun the new season on a victorious note, after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 on penalties in the UEFA Super Cup.
The match initially ended on a 2 – 2 with the first 2 goals scored by Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero for Tottenham Hotspur, while Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos scored the second 2 goals for PSG.
This led to the Penalty shoot-out where PSG emerged victorious and are now the winners of the UEFA Super Cup.
It is the first time a French club is winning the Super Cup, and this brings the number of trophies won in 2025 to five.
