A Former House of Representatives member, Oghene Egoh, has criticised a former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over his comments on the Federal Government’s Lagos–Calabar coastal road project.
Recall that Amaechi had reportedly described the coastal road as a fraudulent project, saying he would terminate it if elected president.
But Egoh, who’s a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, but represented Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, condemned Amaechi’s comment, saying he has no moral ground to criticize the project.
Egoh says Amaechi did not do enough for the South-South when he was Minister of Transportation. He said he focused on building a railway to Niger Republic, but neglected critical infrastructure in the Niger Delta.
Egoh described the Lagos–Calabar coastal road as a transformational project that would boost trade, strengthen interstate relations, and drive economic growth across the South-South and Lagos State.
