Russia has begun work to build the first nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan and Russia’s nuclear agencies made the announcement this Friday saying that they had started engineering surveys to select the best site and prepare project documentation for the construction of a large-capacity nuclear power plant.
The head of the Kazakh nuclear agency, Almasadam Satkaliev says the project will bring about long-term economic growth for the region and the country as a whole.
