Nigeria’s Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate, has said the Nigerian government is expected to meet with leaders of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) today

Pate said this to newsmen this Friday, saying that the aim is to resolve the nationwide warning strike by the association which began on Wednesday and has disrupted health services in the country.

Recall that the strike commenced on Wednesday following the expiration of a 15-day ultimatum issued by NANNM on issues relating to poor pay, staff shortages, unpaid allowances, and unsafe working conditions.

The president of the association, Morakinyo Rilwan, however says he is not confident that a resolution will be reached and that the association will see the seven-day warning strike to the end.
