Nurses, under the umbrella of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives Federal Health Institutions Sector, are preparing to embark on a seven-day nationwide warning strike on Wednesday.
The National Chairman of NANNM-FHI, Morakinyo Rilwan, said that some of the long-standing demands included upward review of shift allowance, uniform allowance adjustment, a separate salary structure for nurses ,among others.
Rilwan says that the strike is inevitable as the Federal Government or the Federal Ministry of Health remains adamant.
Rilwan lamented that despite the fact that they work round-the-clock shifts, they are not treated fairly.
