The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke’s Senior Special Adviser on Media, Hezekiah Bamiji, has described the defection of two senators – Francis Fadahunsi and Olubiyi Fadeyi – from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a miscalculation.
In a television interview this Thursday, Bamiji said the federal lawmakers believed the rumours about Governor Adeleke defecting to the APC, and therefore fell into the trap of the ruling party.
He said they should have consulted with Adeleke and the people in their various constituencies before defecting.
Bamiji also said that the governor does not need to defect to the APC to provide good governance to the people of Osun State.
Recall that Fadahunsi (Osun East) and Olubiyi Fadeyi (Osun Central) were among the four senators who formally defected from the PDP to the APC, thereby increased the number of APC senators in the Senate to 70, while reducing the number of PDP senators to 28.
