Nigeria’s U-19 women’s basketball team have secured a place in the Round of 16 at the ongoing FIBA U-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup, despite falling to Portugal in their final Group B fixture on Tuesday.
The team, were defeated 79–61 by the Portuguese side.
However, Nigeria’s earlier win in the group stage has moved them to third place in the group standings.
Nigeria will now face a team from Group A in the Round of 16.
