The Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a bill for a law to establish the Anambra State Indigenous Traditional Medicine Practices Regulatory Agency and other related matters.
The Speaker of the House, Somtochukwu Udeze, says that traditional medicine can play a vital part in healthcare delivery if it’s properly regulated.
The bill which was passed during plenary seeks to regulate and promote indigenous traditional medicine practices in the state.
It also aims to provide a legal framework for traditional medicine practitioners, ensure quality control and integrate traditional healing methods into the state’s healthcare system.
