An influential Ugandan pastor and outspoken supporter of President Yoweri Museveni has been hospitalised after a shooting attack which killed his bodyguard.

The Ugandan Police has confirmed the incident this Wednesday.

According to the police, Aloysius Bugingo, was shot last Tuesday when unidentified assailants opened fire on his vehicle before escaping the scene on a motorcycle.

The police say an investigation has been launched into the attempted murder of Pastor Aloysius Bugingo and the killing of his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard.
