The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the National Sports Commission (NSC) are set to announce the appointment of a new head coach for the Super Falcons on Tuesday in Abuja.

The appointment comes as the 10-time African champions look to put behind them a disappointing campaign at the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco, where they were eliminated at the quarter-final stage and failed to secure qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Following the team’s performance, head coach Justin Madugu was relieved of his position.

With the 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers approaching, the NFF is keen to appoint a new coach early enough to begin preparations and establish a clear technical direction for the team.
