2023: Disregard any letter of withdrawal; I am still in the race … APGA Rep Candidate
July 19, 2022
The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), candidate for Ezza North and Ishielu Federal Constituency in Ebonyi State, in the forthcoming general election, Nwobasi Joseph has said he has petitioned the National Chairman of APGA, Victor Oye, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and other relevant Agencies to notify them of a plot by the Member Representing Ezza North and Ishielu at the National Assembly, Edwin Anayo, to substitute his name as the candidate of the said Federal Constituency.
Addressing journalists in Abakaliki the Ebonyi State capital, Nwobasi said he will approach the court of competent jurisdiction to seek redress if APGA substitutes his name with Edwin Anayo’s name or any other person’s name.
Nwobasi called on Anayo to stop pressurizing him to step down as he is not ready for any mutual agreement or to accept money to step down for him or anybody from that constituency.
But in a swift reaction, Anayo said he is not a member of APGA, saying if Nwobasi has any problem with his party he should go and sort it out with the party and leave him out of it.
Our Correspondent in Ebonyi State, Emmanuel Nnaji, reports that Edwin Anayo said different political parties have been meeting him to come offering to give him their ticket, saying he has never approached Nwobasi or sent people to him with money to pressurize him to step down for him
